Egypt is expected to announce a major cabinet reshuffle within hours, with informed sources saying up to 13 ministerial portfolios will be changed in a move that signals a significant reordering of the government lineup.

According to sources cited by local media, several senior ministers are expected to leave their posts as part of the anticipated changes. The names reported to be included in the reshuffle list include the ministers of housing, petroleum and mineral resources, communications and information technology, and youth and sports.

The reported list also includes the ministers of investment and foreign trade, planning and economic development and international cooperation, higher education and scientific research, and supply and internal trade.

In addition, sources said the justice minister, the labor minister, the minister of public business sector, and the minister of state for military production are also among those expected to be affected by the reshuffle. The civil aviation minister was also named as a potential departure, according to the same sources.

The sources said the reshuffle is part of ongoing government moves, but did not disclose the official timing of the announcement or the names of potential replacements for the affected portfolios. They indicated that an official statement could be issued within the coming hours.

The developments come as Egypt’s House of Representatives announced it will hold an emergency session, without officially disclosing its agenda. The timing has fueled speculation that the session is linked to the expected cabinet changes and an imminent government announcement
