The 173rd convoy of humanitarian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Sunday via the Rafah Border Crossing, as part of Egypt’s continued efforts to support Palestinians facing a deepening humanitarian crisis.
The convoy passed through the secondary gate of the Rafah land port and is heading toward the Kerem Shalom Crossing in preparation for delivering assistance in the strip.
According to an official source, the trucks are carrying large quantities of relief supplies, including food items, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned goods, and food baskets, in addition to medicines, personal care supplies, tents, and fuel.
The latest delivery comes within the framework of Egypt’s sustained humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of more than two million Palestinians in Gaza, amid worsening living conditions and shortages of essential supplies.
Crossings into Gaza have largely remained closed since March 2, 2025, after the first phase of a ceasefire agreement collapsed without renewal. The truce was further undermined by intensified airstrikes on March 18, 2025, followed by renewed ground operations in multiple areas of the enclave.
The continued flow of aid convoys highlights ongoing regional and international concerns over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as calls grow for expanded access and a lasting cessation of hostilities.
