Egypt, Saudi Arabia Kick off Naval Exercise ‘Morjan 17’

On Sunday, Egypt and Saudi Arabia began naval exercise "Morjan 17" at King Faisal Naval Base in the Western Fleet.

Commander of the Saudi Western Fleet, Rear Admiral Yahya Bin Mohammed Al-Asiri, said that the exercise aims to strengthen the relations and joint cooperation, raise the level of combat readiness between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the Egyptian Naval Forces.

It also seeks to unify the operational concepts between the two sides to confront threats in the region, and exchange experiences in methods and ways of implementing naval tasks.

This came within the framework of the joint exercises conducted by the Egyptian Naval Forces with the world navies, to enhance the combat capabilities of the naval units and their crews, and make them able to face challenges in a way that contributes to supporting maritime security and stability in the region.
