Egypt agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an integrated farm in south Sudan.

This came during the cooperation talks held in Juba on Thursday between the Minister of Agriculture El Sayed El Quseir, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security in Southern Sudan, Josephine Lagu, and the Minister of Livestock and Maritime Fisheries Onyoti Adigo.

The meeting dealt with the investment opportunities available in the agricultural sector in South Sudan, challenges of agricultural development, technical support and training.

El Quseir renewed the political leadership directives to strengthen cooperation frameworks in all fields with S. Sudan, especially the agricultural sector.

The meeting was attended by Egypt's ambassador to South Sudan, Mohamed Qadah, head of the Egyptian Center for Agricultural Research Mohamed Soliman, and a number of senior Egyptian officials.

The two sides held talks last November in Cairo, covering a wide range of topics including capacity building, meat and fish production, vaccines, agricultural research and the production of seeds.
