Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met officials from Italy’s Eni to discuss ongoing energy projects and future investments, affirming Egypt’s commitment to maintaining a stable and attractive investment environment.

The meeting took place during a visit to the offshore drilling rig “Cairo-2,” following its completion of exploratory drilling at the “Dennis West 1X” well in the Mediterranean, off Port Said.

Madbouly said the energy sector remains a top priority due to its role in supporting economic growth and development. He described cooperation with Eni as a strong example of successful partnership, pointing to progress in exploration, production, and development activities. He added that the government aims to expand cooperation to increase output, meet domestic demand, and support exports.

Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi said Egypt is working to strengthen partnerships with international companies and provide a supportive business environment to attract further investment and accelerate exploration efforts. He also confirmed plans to settle dues owed to foreign partners in the near term.

Eni officials reviewed the company’s investments and operations in Egypt, along with recent exploration results indicating promising potential in its concession areas. They also outlined future plans and community initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector.
