Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has officially inaugurated the new Eroğlu Global garment factory (Blue Jeans) in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, a project highlighting deepening economic cooperation between Egypt and Turkey.

From Groundbreaking to Opening in One Year

The facility, belonging to the Turkish company Eroğlu Global, was completed in just one year. Construction, import and installation of Turkish machinery, establishment of production lines, and the training of Egyptian workers were all finalized since the groundbreaking ceremony in August last year.

Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen, who attended both the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, praised the Egyptian government and the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority for their support throughout the project’s development.

$40 Million Investment and Job Creation

Eroğlu Global invested $40 million in the factory, which will employ more than 1,000 Egyptian workers. Most of the production machinery was imported from Turkey, and the company has already secured its first export deal back to the Turkish market.

Eroğlu Global plans to expand further in Egypt, aiming to create 10,000 jobs across multiple projects in the coming years.

Expanding Turkish Investment in Egypt

The West Qantara Industrial Zone has already attracted 40 foreign investors, including 10 Turkish companies, reflecting Ankara’s growing confidence in Egypt’s investment climate.

Ambassador Şen noted that the Prime Minister’s personal attendance at the opening underscored the importance Egypt places on Turkish investment, calling it a “special honor” for the company.
