Egypt Offers Condolences to Turkey, Syria over Devastating Earthquake Victims

Egypt expressed on Monday its sincere condolences and solidarity with both Turkey and Syria for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit a number of countries in the eastern Mediterranean region.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Turkish and Syrian peoples, wishing a speedy recovery for all the injured.

Moreover, Egypt affirmed its readiness to help them face the effects of this terrible disaster.

It is worth mentioning that, the Turkish Disaster Management Authority announced that the number of victims of the earthquake that struck the country at dawn today, Monday, has risen to 76 dead, and 440 injured, in addition to the collapse of hundreds of buildings in a number of provinces and states. 

Syrian medical sources reported that the number of victims of the earthquake that struck the country at dawn today, Monday, has risen to 99 dead and about 330 injured, in addition to the collapse of dozens of buildings in the governorates of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia. 

The earthquake was felt by the residents of Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Cyprus, Armenia, Syria, and the residents of some Egyptian governorates, including Greater Cairo.
