Egypt Launches Digital Platform to Promote Yacht Tourism

Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, said on Monday that a higher ministerial committee has been formed to develop a strategy, aimed at promoting yacht tourism in Egypt.

The committee will consist of the Ministers of Tourism, Finance, Communications, and Information Technology (IT), and representatives from the ministries and concerned authorities.

He explained that the ministerial committee aims at updating the maps for all marinas across the country-whether existing or proposed- establishing new marinas in areas of touristic significance, as well as setting controls and regulations for yacht tourism.

The committee’s specializations also include launching a 'single window' in which all concerned authorities are represented, so that Transport Ministry will be responsible for coordinating with all parties to issue all licenses and collect the prescribed fees, in addition to taking the necessary measures to simplify the permits required for the movement of yachts between all Egyptian ports.
