Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherif Farouk, announced the launch of the annual “Ahlan Madaris” (Welcome Schools) exhibition, offering discounts of up to 30% on school supplies. The fair opened today and will run until September 22, providing families with access to affordable products ahead of the new academic year.
In his remarks at the opening, Farouk said the exhibition is part of the government’s broader effort to ease financial pressures on households and ensure students across all grade levels have access to essential educational materials at reasonable prices.
The minister toured the exhibition halls with participating vendors to review the range of products available this year. He highlighted improvements compared to previous editions, including a wider variety of goods and higher quality standards.
This year’s edition offers discounts ranging from 20% to 30% on items compared to market prices. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting Egyptian families during back-to-school season and promoting consumer protection through regulated pricing.
