General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Lieutenant General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance military relations between the armed forces of the two brotherly countries, as well as the latest regional and international developments and their impact on security and stability in the Middle East under the current circumstances and challenges.
In a related context, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, also met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
An official reception ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defense headquarters, where the military bands played the national anthems of both countries.
The meeting included discussions on several topics of mutual interest within the framework of supporting military cooperation between the Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces.
The Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces expressed his pride in the strong ties that bind the Egyptian and Jordanian militaries, stressing the commitment of the General Command to strengthening cooperation in various military fields between the two sides.
For his part, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance military cooperation with Egypt in the coming period, praising Egypt’s efforts to support the foundations of security and peace in the region.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior commanders from the Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces, along with the Jordanian military attaché in Cairo.
