Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Khaled El-Enany met the Ambassador of the State of Italy in Cairo H.E. Michele Quaroni at the headquarters of a library in Zamalek to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and archaeological work.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of allowing the Italian missions in the upcoming celebration marking the 200th anniversary of deciphering the old Egyptian writing (hieroglyphics and demotic) and ancient Egyptian civilization as well.
According to the ministry, means of promoting cultural tourism from Italy to Egypt were also reviewed by organizing introductory trips for the major tour operators from Italy, and studying the possibility of launching charter airlines between Italy and both Luxor and Aswan.
It’s worth mentioning that the two high-ranking officials held a previous meeting in the presence of the head of the Italian Companies Association Piere Zhya Astoi to promote cooperation in the field of tourism and push more tourist traffic to Egypt from Italy.
