Hassan El Khatib, The Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade discussed with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and his accompanying delegation ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in a large number of areas of common concern, especially the sectors of trade, industry, investment and energy.
El Khatib pointed out that the Egyptian market has distinguished investment opportunities for the Hungarian business community, especially in the renewable energy sector and related networks for transportation and distribution, solar panels and batteries.
The minister noted the importance of activating joint efforts to strengthen trade relations between the two countries, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached about $379 million last year, an increase of 16.9% from 2022.
On his part, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen the frameworks of joint economic cooperation with Egypt in various fields and at all levels, expressing his hope that his visit to Cairo at the head of a delegation comprising representatives of the Hungarian business community will boost economic relations between the two countries.
