Egyptian troops and units rehearsed and conducted various military exercises in Northern Military Region, Egypt's Armed Forces reported on Friday.

In a statement, Egypt's Armed Forces said: "Armor soldiers, troops and different units participating in the exercise executed several typical and atypical target practices. The exercise reflected precision in dealing with any potential offensive targets."

“The exercise was held at a Northern Egyptian military base and included offensive and defensive drills and combat exercises using the heavy weapons and jet fighters,” the statement added.

For his part, Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki said: "Egypt has the inherent capacity to deal with various domestic and international issues arising in connection with national security."

"Egyptian Armed Forces are very confident that despite the tensions and uncertainty in the territorial and international security environment, we have the needed military capabilities — backed by the will of our soldiers to defend the nation — to thwart any potential military threat rising against us," he added.

It’s worth mentioning that Egypt and its allies have carried out several joint military exercises in the last months, according to domestic reports.

In this regard, the Egyptian Armed Forces’ spokesman said in a statement that the “Series of various exercises with different allies improved our interoperability and is a testimony to the flexibility of our Armed forces.”
