 Egypt Allocates  EGP 60 Billion  to Implement Drinking Water,  Sanitation Projects

A report authored by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development confirmed that the housing sector has a high priority among the most important projects implemented within the framework of the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "a Dignified Life".

This initiative includes integrated sewage projects that are currently being implemented and household sewage connections that are being installed for about 1,477 rural communities.

The initiative also includes the development of 174 sewage treatment plants (two and three) to add a capacity of 206 thousand m3/day.

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development revealed, in a report, the increase in the cost of "Dignified  Life" projects from  EGP 600 billion to nearly one trillion pounds.

The ministry explained that this initiative is the largest development initiative in the world, both in terms of the scope of its impact, which extends to 60% of Egypt's population.
