Egypt made history by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup knockout stage for the first time after securing a 1-1 draw against Iran in their final Group G match at Seattle Stadium.

The Pharaohs earned the crucial point they needed to advance, following a hard-fought contest in which both sides created chances throughout the match.

The result sealed Egypt's place in the Round of 32, marking the country's first-ever progression beyond the group stage at a FIFA World Cup.

Egypt finished second in Group G with five points, behind Belgium, who claimed top spot after cruising to a 5-1 victory over New Zealand in the group's other final-round fixture.

The historic qualification represents a landmark achievement for Egyptian football, with the national team reaching the World Cup knockout rounds for the first time in its tournament history.
