EGX Records Worst Performance since 2020, All Indexes Down

The Egyptian Stock Exchange closed trading on Sunday, the first session of the week, with all its indexes down.

The benchmark  EGX30 fell by 1.4%, closing at 9,728 points, to record its lowest level since April 2020.

The broader EGX70 EWI, of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), decreased by 1.82% at 1820 points, while the all-embracing  EGX100 fell by 1.63% at 2742 points.

The market cap of the shares listed in the inside the cabin fell to EGP 649.6 billion, losing about EGP 8.1 billion, compared to EGP 657.7 billion recorded at the end of Thursday's session.

Egyptian and Arab investors tended to buy with a net purchase value of EGP 589.7 million and EGP 6.9 million, respectively, while foreigners intended to sell with a net value of 596.6 million.

The total trading value reached about EGP 431.4 million, with a circulation of about 338.1 million shares executed on 26.5 thousand transactions.
