The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) held on Thursday a press conference to present the Egyptian team new head coach Hossam El Badry.
On Thursday, September 19, EFA named El Badry as a new coach, succeeding the former coach Javier Aguirre, who was sacked after the Pharaohs' shocking exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of nation, held in Egypt.
On his part, the EFA president Amr El-Ganainy said El Badry is the appropriate choice to lead the Pharaohs in the upcoming period.
"We will provide El Badry with all the success factors, which will help him to succeed in his mission. The EFA Board of directors let El Badry choose his technical staff by himself," El-Ganainy added.
On his part, the former Al Ahly manager expressed his happiness over his new post. " Today, I have achieved my dream by leading the Egyptian national team, and it is a great honor for me to be the Pharaohs coach," the 59-year-old said.
During the meeting, El Badry introduced his coaching staff, which include Mohamed Barakat as a team manager, Ahmed Ayoub, and Tarek Mostafa as general coaches, Sayed Moawad as an assistant coach, and Ayman Taher as goalkeeper coach.
The new Egyptian team manager stressed the importance of the media's role in the upcoming period, describing the journalists and anchors as a "Lighthouse."
" Our main goals for the upcoming period are to qualify for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, and the 2022 Fifa World Cup, which will be held in Qatar," El Badry remarked.
Regarding Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, El Badry hailed the iconic Egyptian star describing him as a great and important player.
"Salah is a great player. We all as Egyptians are proud of Salah. I did not contact him until now, but of course, I will contact him sooner, the new coach asserted.
