The Normalization Committee of the Egyptian Football Association has opened an investigation in Egypt's vote in the Best Fifa Football Awards. EFA sent an inquiry to FIFA about its vote which was not taken into consideration.

The EFA had officially sent Egypt's vote to FIFA on August 15, four days before the expiry of the deadline. Four days later Fifa confirmed receiving Egypt's vote.

Egypt's captain Ahmed El-Mohamdy and Olympic team head coach Shawky Gharib voted for the Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Lionel Messi won the FIFA Best Men’s Player award for 2019, defeating Liverpool and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk and fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo to win the iconic award.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker followed the footsteps of his coach Jurgen Klopp by being chosen as the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year 2019, while head coach Jurgen Klopp has been named as the Best FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year 2019 at the glittering ceremony of the 2019 Best FIFA Football Awards, currently held in Milan.

Last week, Hossam El-Badry was named as the Pharaohs' new head coach, succeeding  Javier Aguirre, who was sacked by the Former EFA board of directors following the Pharaohs’ exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after they suffered a shocking defeat by South Africa 0-1 at Cairo Stadium.

It is worth mentioning that the Federation International Football Association appointed on Tuesday, August 20 a normalization committee to run EFA.

FIFA’s decision came after the recent resignation of the Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida, as well as the entire broad members.

The committee included Amr Youssef Hassan El Ganainy as a chairman, Gamal Mohamed Ali as a vice president, Sahar Abdel Hak Ahmed, Mohamed Fadl Zahran, and Ahmed Abdallah Rady as members.
