EFA Extends Suspension of Football Activities for 15 More Days

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Wednesday that it is extending the suspension of all football activities in Egypt for 15 more days.

"Based on the decisions issued by the Egyptian prime minister extending the nationwide curfew in the country for more two weeks, the EFA has decided to extend the suspension of the football activities from April 15 until the end of April," the EFA said in a statement

The EFA initially suspended all its activities for 15 days on 15 March over the coronavirus outbreak, then the Egyptian football's governing body extended the suspension decision for more two weeks starting from March 31 until April 14. 

Earlier on Tuesday Egypt extended the nationwide night-time curfew for two weeks as part of measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus with the ban hours will be reduced by one hour, from 8 pm to 6 am. He also extended the travel ban for another two weeks until April 23.

The decision includes shutting down all youth centers and training grounds.

In a press conference, the Egyptian Prime Minister  Moustafa Madbouli called on all Egyptians to comply with all precautionary and preventive measures set by the health ministry in order to curb the virus outbreak, adding that Egypt is still within the safe limits of coronavirus spread.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt has so far registered 1450, including 94 deaths.
