Dubai’s Most Prestigious Car Plate Sold for $10 Million

A charity auction in Duba, Saturday, saw the sale of a car license plate for 38 million dirhams, equivalent to $ 10.3 million, in support of a charity campaign.

Local media reported that the vehicle number "AA 9" was sold for 38 million dirhams at the most noble auction, supporting the 100 million meals campaign, which is held under the patronage of the Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to serve food in 30 countries during Ramadan.

In the charity auction, a series of distinguished numbers for vehicle plates and mobile phone numbers were displayed to support the "100 million meals" campaign, the global initiatives of the ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in cooperation with Emirates Auctions.

The "AA 9" is therefore the second most expensive car number in the world, and the identity of the buyer was not disclosed.
