Authorities in Dubai confirmed that a drone crashed into a residential building in Dubai Creek Harbour early Thursday morning, prompting the evacuation of residents and a rapid emergency response.
According to Dubai Media Office, the incident occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. when a drone fell onto the building. Officials immediately evacuated the structure as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of those living inside.
Shortly after the crash, a small fire broke out, but emergency teams from Dubai Civil Defence responded quickly and brought the situation under control within minutes. Authorities described the blaze as minor and confirmed it did not spread beyond the initial impact area.
No injuries were reported in the building following the incident, and residents were safely moved out during the emergency response.
The event comes less than 24 hours after two drones fell near Dubai International Airport on March 11. In that earlier incident, three individuals sustained minor injuries, including two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi citizen, while an Indian national suffered moderate injuries, according to reports.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the origin or purpose of the drones, and investigations are ongoing.
Officials continue to monitor the situation as regional tensions remain high, but they emphasized that public safety measures were promptly implemented and the situation at Dubai Creek Harbour has been fully contained.
