Egyptian actress Dina El Sherbiny recently joined the cast of actor Amr Saad's highly-anticipated film "Al Ghorban".
The film presents an Egyptian superhero just like the Americans and depicts the Battle of Rommel or the First Battle of el-Alamein, which lasted throughout July 1942 during World War II in Egypt. The battle ended in a crushing defeat for the Germans after months of hit-and-run tactics.
The film sees Asma Abulyazeid once again teaming up with Saad. The project is comparable to Hollywood films in terms of the idea and shooting, especially the action and war scenes. Production lasted about two years and was shot in a snow-covered Russian region before the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The producing company created a movie set of El Alamein city in the Fayoum, at a cost of about $12 million, in which the rest of the shooting is currently being held.
The film first premieres in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Summer of 2023, before screening in the Gulf countries and the rest of the Arab world.
"AL Ghorban" is also set to screen across the globe after being dubbed into 7 global languages.
El Sherbiny, born on March 17, 1985, started her career as a TV host for the program “Shababeek” on the Dream satellite channel.
However, her growing admiration for acting made her join the Marwa Gebril acting school.
She studied for a year and then auditioned for the 2010 TV series “Ard Khas” (Special Screening), where she was chosen to play her real-life character.
Afterward, El Sherbiny starred in projects such as 2013's film "Al Hafla" and the TV series "Moga Harra".
She is known for her roles in TV series such as "The Visit" (2021), "Qasr El Nile" (2021), "Luebat Al-Nesyan" (2020), "Zay El-Shams" (2019), “Asham Ebles” (2017), "Khalsana B Sheyaka" (2017), “Grand Hotel” (2016), "ِAfrah El-Qobba" (2016), “Hekayat Banat S1” (2012), "Taht El-Ard" (2013), and “Al Moatn X” (2011).
