Washington Post unveiled a new US project in Giza, Egypt. "The Digital Giza Project, a comprehensive clearinghouse of all things in Giza, brings ancient history firmly into the modern age. It’s a collection of tens of thousands of images, scholarly research and cutting-edge technology about the archaeological sites at Giza," the US newspaper reported.

Peter Der Manuelian began this project at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston when he began to digitize the work of the Egyptologist George Reisner who remained working in the excavations at Giza for 40 years.

Manuelian’s project has since moved to Harvard University, expanding to include information from Reisner's mythical excavations, modern-day digital imaging of the sites, data from Harvard University, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions.

The project is a center for information exchange that includes everything in Giza. The digital project includes tens of thousands of images, scientific research, and advanced technology around archaeological sites in Giza.

"Giza digital project is a tremendous and ambitious project. It blends between Egyptian antiques, especially those at the Giza district, and the use of information and communications technologies. Thus, we can present eternal Egyptian antiques to the whole world through modern means," Hussein Bassir, a renown Archaeologist, said.

" This project is credited to Egyptologist Dr. Peter Der Manuelian, who began this project while working at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, US," the Egyptologist added.

"There is constant communication with Der Manuelian, and other scientists in order to present Pharaonic Egypt and its glorious antiques in a beautiful and attractive image to the whole globe," Bassir mentioned.

"I expressed my appreciation to everyone who works in this project and all the important projects that preserve our eternal antiques and present them in the best possible image," he noted.

Giza Pyramids Area gets significant attention from Political leadership, all organs of the State, and all relevant ministries, such as Antiquities, Tourism and other ministries.

Giza Pyramids development project is the most ambitious project in the antiques. It will be inaugurated very soon according to plan by Ministry of Antiquities. This project began in January 2009. It was scheduled to end in 2012 but it was postponed due to the January 25 Revolution.
