Amid Global Flight Ban, Egypt Brings Its Nationals Home

In these conditions, which the world witnesses between an epidemic that invades countries and a flight ban that restricts the movement, Egypt announced from the first moment that it will not leave its nationals.

Everyone who wants to return home will get his desire wherever he/she is in any country of the world, and this is what the Ministry of Immigration and Civil Aviation implemented with the stranded who want to return home in the past weeks.

Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram pointed out to two flights from London to Cairo to return Egyptians stuck in England. Other trips to East Asia, the UAE, Kuwait, and the United States of America, in coordination with the Ministry of Civil Aviation will be organized soon.

Makram regularly communicates with Egyptians around the world, in a live broadcast via the official page of the Ministry of Immigration on the social networking site "Facebook", in order to answer all inquiries and requests received by the Ministry from Egyptians stranded abroad, following the precautionary measures that have been taken globally to curb the spread of the virus, most notably the suspension of air traffic and the movement between countries.

Makram emphasized that the state has not and will not forget its nationals abroad or at inside the country, and that the Ministry of Immigration Operations Room is working around the clock and receives all inquiries and questions from Egyptians abroad from various countries of the world, and accordingly contact with the relevant authorities to take the necessary procedures in this regard.

The minister indicated that she was in a meeting with the Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar, who assured her that coordination had been done with the British authorities to operate two air flights on Thursday, 26 March, from London to Cairo, specifically from "Gatwick" airport, to return the Egyptians stranded in the United Kingdom.

She confirmed that there are a number of determinants that allow decision-making, the first of which is determining the numbers willing to return. The second element is the coordination between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Other countries to get an approval for an exceptional flight as determined by each State of precautionary measures.
