1 Mln Units to Be Supplied with Natural Gas: Min.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources  Eng. Tarek Al-Mulla said that agencies under his ministry are working on carrying out an ambitious action plan to deliver natural gas to one million housing units.

The plan seeks to deliver natural gas to more than one million housing units during the current fiscal year.

This means to complete delivery of natural gas to 1.2 million housing units nationwide.

More than 85 cities and regions in the governorates  across the country are applying the Ministry's initiative for easy installment.

The minister pointed out that the delivery rates of natural gas to residential units reached during the past five years about 4 million units, during the period from June 2014 to June 2019.

He revealed that the total number of housing units benefited from natural gas reached 10 million units nationwide since the beginning of that service years ago.

He said that the last fiscal year witnessed unprecedented results in the delivery rates, which amounted to one million and 230 thousand housing units.

About seventy- five cities, villages and new areas in various governorates of the Republic were provided with the natural gas during the same year.

Priority  was given to governorates of Upper Egypt and the regions most in need.

Eng. Al Mulla also affirmed  the positive results achieved by the launch of the Ministry's initiative for easy installment of the cost to citizens in the cost of delivery to their housing units.

That initiative has been applied since July 2018 in cities and areas that natural gas reaches for the first time without interest or interest over a period of 6 years.

He  stressed the importance of continuous follow-up of all natural gas delivery projects at the level of the Republic and implemented by petroleum sector companies and private sector companies in order to overcome the challenges and give in time  payments to   ensure the continuation of the highest rates of delivery.

This is the cornerstone of the ambitious delivery plan.
