The death toll from the devastating earthquake in both Turkey and Syria has risen to more than 34,000, in addition to thousands of injured ones, according to the latest official toll, Al-Arabiya channel reported.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced today, Sunday, that the number of victims of the earthquake that struck the south of the country, last week, had risen to 29,605 people.
While the official Turkish "TRT" channel quoted the disaster management as saying that 147,934 people had been evacuated.
On its part, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the death toll in Syria has reached 5,273, indicating that the numbers are expected to reach 7,000.
