Czech Foreign Minister (FM) Jan Lipavsky and Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg discussed on Monday, a number of security issues at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
The two officials also discussed the situation in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, China's growing influence, and preparations for the next NATO summit, set to be hosted by the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, next July.
Regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's declaration of his intention to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus, Lipavsky said that Russia should respect its international obligations, and suggested that NATO actively search for cooperation modes to support Ukraine's accession to the military alliance.
