Culture Min, Port Said Governor Inaugurate 4th Port Said Book Fair

Minister of Culture Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem and Port Said Governor Adel Al Ghadban Inaugurated the fourth edition of the Port Said Book Fair that is organized by the General Egyptian Book Organization, in addition, she attended the opening of an exhibition displaying some reproductions of significant documents about Port Said’s history.

During the opening, the minister expressed his sincere happiness with the latest shine in Egypt’s cultural scene that successfully attracted a huge audience, adding that Port Said experiences a bright cultural activity that parallels the latest developments the government sees.

Therefore, she called all the city’s residents to enjoy the recently-kicked off-book fair and its various activities including visiting the exhibition dedicated to the city’s history and the sacrifices its people paid through history to defend their land.

The opening ceremony saw the participation of the Port Said troupe for folk instruments that performed several traditional dances and songs.

It is worthy to mention that the book fair will last until September 17; it consists of 38 pavilions, and the total number of participants reaches 57. In addition, there are 25 events scheduled during the days of the book fair.

Regarding the exhibition, it displays 16 reproductions for several rare and important historical documents related to the history of Port Said that shed the light on the resistance movements initiated by the city’s residents to defend their lands against the trilateral occupation against Egypt in 1956, and their participation in influential national revolutions such as 1919 Revolution.
