Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a visit to Wuhan on Tuesday for the first time since the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Xi landed in Wuhan where he planned to “visit and express his gratitude” for medical workers, military, community staff, local party officials, as well as patients and residents.

Upon his arrival, the Chinese president headed to "Huoshenshan" hospital, an emergency hospital built in response to the outbreak.

The viral photos showed Xi while addressing doctors via video conference. Other photos showed Xi saluting a patient over video conference, greeting a row of doctors outside the hospital, and delivering a speech.

The president’s visit comes as the reported number of new infections in China dropped to fewer than 100 in recent days, from around 2,000 three weeks ago, according to Xinhua news agency.

On Tuesday, China registered only 19 new cases, the smallest daily increase since the country began tracking data in January.

It is worth mentioning that, China- the epicenter of coronavirus outbreak-is trying with all its might to confront the effects resulting from the outbreak of the new Coronavirus via a series of strong and effective measures that seek to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by this deadly virus.

The transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
