A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Sunday that China is closely monitoring the situation in Syria and hopes for the restoration of stability as soon as possible.
In a statement reported by China Global Television Network (CGTN), the spokesperson emphasized that the Chinese government is assisting its nationals who wish to leave Syria in an organized and safe manner. The government is also in communication with those choosing to remain, providing them with guidance to ensure their safety.
"We urge all parties in Syria to guarantee the safety and security of Chinese personnel and facilities in the country," the spokesperson added.
The statement further confirmed that the Chinese embassy in Damascus remains operational and continues to provide all possible assistance to Chinese citizens in Syria
