Data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed an increase in foreign investments in Egyptian treasury bills during the month of March, amounting to about $19.1 billion, equivalent to EGP 1.121 trillion.
According to CBE data announced, Wednesday, foreign investments in t-bills rose in March to $32.7 billion at the end of the month, compared to $13.6 billion at the end of February.
It is noteworthy that the Central Bank decided last March to liberalize the exchange rate after the government concluded the Ras El Hekma deal with the UAE, worth $24 billion, and transferred foreign currency debts worth $11 billion to the Egyptian pound.
