The monthly rate of change in the general urban consumer price index, announced by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in September was 2.1% in August compared to 1.6%, year-on-year and 0.4% in July 2024.
On an annual basis, the overall urban inflation rate was 26.2% in August versus 25.7% in July, the central bank added in a statement on Tuesday.
The monthly rate of change in the core consumer price index also recorded 0.9% in August, compared to 0.3%, year-on-year and negative 0.5% in July.
Also, inflation recorded 25.1% in August versus 24.4% in July, on an annual basis.
