The Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema will honor several 2021 Ramadan TV stars during the 70th edition of the center's festival, Al Ain reported on Saturday.

Among of the selected stars are Mona Zaki, Amina Khalil, Mohamed Mamdouh, Mariam Naoum, Asmaa Abu Al Yazid.

The 70th edition of the festival will take place between May 20, and 27, and it will witness the organizing of film screenings after a year of absence due to the pandemic.

Five films will be competing for the festival's prizes: "Qabel Lel Kasr," "Al Mahkama," "Bara Al Manhag," "Leligar," and "Ritsa."

Last year, Catholic Center for Cinema decided to hold the 69th edition of the center’s cinema festival as one day event.

The center’s director Father Boutros Daniel expressed that this edition was exceptional one-day occassion. The reasons behind this decision was the situation of the pandemic and the latest decisions issued by the Egyptian cabinet.

The jury included director Mohamed Fadel, POD Saied Sheimy, script writer Ibrahim El Mougy, editor Salwa Beker, actress Hala Sedki, actor Hany Ramzy, Critic Mahmoud Abdel Shakour, and artist Hesham Gabr.

Five Egyptian films participated were “Yom Wi Leila,” “Sandouk El Donya,” “Be Elm El Wosoul,” “Saheb El Maqam,” and “Hazr Tagawol.”
