Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has been cast as the narrator for Netflix‘s highly-anticipated movie adaptation “The School for Good and Evil“.
The movie is based on the best-selling novel series by author Soman Chainani. The series has sold over 2.5 million copies and has been translated into 30 languages.
It follows two girls who go to a school that trains young children to be fairy tale heroes or villains. Their tale takes a surprising turn when each of them gets sorted to a different school than they originally expected.
Blanchett joins an already star-studded cast that includes Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie, Sofia Wylie as Agatha, Laurence Fishburne as the School Master, Michelle Yeoh as Professor Emma Anemone, Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso, and Kerry Washington as Professor Clarissa Dovey.
Other members of the cast include Ben Kingsley, Patti LuPone, Kit Young, Rob Delaney, Rachel Bloom, Peter Serafinowicz, Mark Heap, Jamie Flatters, Freya Theodora Parks, Demi Isaac Oviawe, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, and Briony Scarlett.
It is directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay adapted by David Magee and Laura Solon.
“The School For Good and Evil” debuts on Netflix this Fall. A specific release date is yet to be announced.
