New Administrative Capital Museum Exhibits Amun Priests’ Mummies

Today, the Higher Committee for Museum Display did the final preparations for exhibiting Amun god Priests’ mummies at the New Administrative Capital Museum.

Exhibiting these mummies is part of the exhibit scenario dedicated to the history of Egypt’s capitals museum.

The head of the Higher Committee for Museum Display explained the mummies were transferred from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the New Administrative Capital Museum last week.

They are a part of the exhibit scenario of the museum dedicated to the history of Egypt’s capitals. They were placed in their final places to keep them safe and to be ready for the final display scenario.

Regarding the history of these mummies, the head of Museums Sector Mr. Moemen Othman revealed that the mummies were unearthed in 1881.

The identity of one of the mummies was identified, it is for Nag-Mat, the wife of Harihor. He was the head of Amun priests’.

Her eyes were filled with black and white stones, and her body was decorated with different accessories.

Another female mummy was also identified. It also for one of the heads of Amun priests’ wives. Nas-Ie Khen-So was the wife of Ban-Gim II. The mummy depicted a more developed mummification process.

It is worthy to mention that the museum received more than 100 artifacts last week. The artifacts were selected thoroughly to enrich the museum’s organized exhibit scenario that narrates the history of different capitals of Egypt.
