Cairo University president: new projects to improve Egyptian economy

Elkhosht: we prevent any illegal activities threatening the security of the state

Cairo university president Mohamed Osman Elkhosht said today in a press conference that the international branch of Cairo University will launch international academic programs not faculties, where attractive a lot of foreign students to enroll in it . He added, " Egyptian Students should get accepted first from the Egyptian university in order to apply for the international one."

He talked to 'SEE' and said that any political activity will not be allowed in Cairo university. " The prevention of any illegal activities threatening the security of the State and the university only supports the country, by holding conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops to raise awareness, enlightenment and education of students." He added.

Elkhosht referred that 27 new study programs in different fields were launched for students, in addition to 7 national agriculture and industrial projects to boost the country's economy. Further more, 4 projects for developing Egyptian's minds will also be opened .

He pointed that a dental hospital will also be built for first time and Cooperation plans with university hospitals have been developed for the provision of medical and psychiatric services to different detention facilities.

"The university will have its own theatre and orchestra. Also, a number of antiquities were restored as a part of Cairo historical project." He added

He also stated that allowing the academic staff to travel for free is an important step to increase the national income.

He explained that the Scientific Journal of Applied Research issued by the university attained the 6th position globally. This is according to Thompson Reuters index.
