Vice President of Cairo University Mohamed Othman Elkhosht sent messages to the students during his speech at the open meeting organized by the university in cooperation with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the African Football Confederation (CAF).

The event came in conjunction with the CAF Awards ceremony in the presence of Youri Raffi Djorkaeff, Ahmed Hossam Mido, Laura George, and Clementine Toure.

Elkhosht said: “The African player was able to combine European physical and mental strength. He is one of the most important pillars of any European team, stressing that Africa can offer the world a lot and made a lot in football.”

The president of the university added: “The football and other games help us to distinguish between competition, conflict or war because the human soul has tendencies that call for war and fighting, but football can turn it into a competition subject to rules and ethics.”

He directed the students to read the FIFA Code of Ethics and benefit from it.

He pointed out that the success of the inpidual player is only through the team, stressing that no single player can end any competition.

Elkhosht said: “If you lose the match, you must prepare for the next one, and if you lose an exam, you must prepare for the next exam.”

Elkhosht called on Cairo University students to stick to the insistence and not to despair and continue the competition.

He stressed the need to look forward continuously and not to look back, to avoid losing the future, whether in study or work, because staying for the fittest is the way to compete until the last minute.

He praised Mohamed Salah because he is constantly developing himself and does not pay any attention to the side battles surrounding him, saying: "Hard work pays off."

Elkhosht confirmed that Africa made a real contribution to the world in football, and it can make more real contributions in other fields. The continent can teach the world because it is the origin of the world.
