Cairo Opera House hosts Verdi's "Un Ballo in Maschera"

A few hours ago, the prestigious Cairo Opera House announced that it will host Verdi's "Un Ballo in Maschera" (A Masked Ball) shows on three successive nights from March 3 to 5.

Performed by Cairo Opera Orchestra, the shows will be organized in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institue.

under the supervision of Dr. Iman Moustafa, Elio Orciuolo will conduct the orchestra, Carmine Colangeli will be the choirmaster, Hazem Tayel will direct the whole shows.

"Un Ballo in Maschera" is an opera in three acts, and the text was scripted by Antonio Somma.

Staged for the first time in February 1859 at the Teatro Appollo, It was based on  Eugene Scribe's script for Daniel Auber's opera, "Gustave III, ou Le bal masqué" produced in 1833.
