The 44th Cairo International Film Festival “CIFF” will take place from Nov. 13-22 at the Cairo Opera House.
The festival is headed by veteran Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy.
Like every edition, the award-winning films will be screened the following day of the closing ceremony, on November 23.
Submissions for the program will open on May 15th and will close on August 15th.
“Preparations for the festival have started already and we are hoping to achieve an edition worthy of the festival legacy,” Fahmy said in a statement.
Festival director Amir Ramses commented. “We have already started to watch, invite, and follow up on the expected important films of the year along with the programming team”.
“CIFF” is one of the oldest festivals in the Arab world and Africa. It is the only festival in the region classified in the A category by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
