The second edition of the annual AUC Tahrir Culture Festival 2025 kicked off on Thursday, April 10, 2025, and will run through Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the historic Tahrir Campus of American University in Cairo (AUC).
This year, the festival adopts the theme “Cairo: A Global City”, highlighting the Egyptian capital’s unique cultural identity as a bridge between Africa, the Mediterranean, and the wider world.
The festival celebrates Cairo’s vibrant mix of heritage, people, and history within a modern and dynamic context.
The event, which is open to the public free of charge, features a diverse lineup of activities including book discussions, art exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances, panel talks, a handmade crafts market, children's activities, and food offerings that reflect the city’s multicultural essence.
The opening ceremony is held with the attendance of prominent public figures, authors, media personalities, ambassadors, and representatives from cultural and community organizations, alongside members of AUC community.
A special highlight of the opening event is the unveiling of the historic Armenian Room, newly redesigned to feature the 38 characters of the Armenian alphabet, paying tribute to Armenian cultural heritage.
