CAFU, on-demand car refueling, specialized in delivering fuel to cars, announced that it will provide its service in the Egyptian market soon.

On its official account on "LinkedIn", the startup showed several pictures of banners in Cairo, which indicate its awaited launch.

CAFU was first launched in the United Arab Emirates in 2018, and it is an app that specializes in providing fuel, allowing drivers to obtain the service online, via a smartphone, as a vehicle will reach at any destination for its customers.

All a customer has to do is make a service request through the app and a fuel-loaded vehicle will arrive with the company’s employees to fill the customers car according to the instructions specified.

The application is available for free on the Android and IOS phone platforms. The fuel cost is paid through a bank account, or on delivery, however there is a monthly subscription with no limits to use.

According to the service available in Dubai, any amount of fuel can be ordered at a cost starting from 40 dirhams, with the same price as fuel in gas stations, yet, 18 dirhams (EGP 77.04) are added on the service in each filling order.

With the approaching of the launch of the first app specialized in supplying cars with fuel in the Egyptian market, starting in Cairo, opinions of experts differed about the success of the service in the country.

The former Egyptian minister of petroleum Osama Kama said that the new service will reduce congestion on gas stations, expecting it to spread in the northern coast and on highways that do not have adequate services.

Kamal added that there are areas that do not have gas stations, noting that there is a group of people who prefer delivery services despite the imposition of excess fees on these services.

The former minister added that the company's entry into the Egyptian market indicates a demand for investment in the country, and encourages many other startups to implement the same idea, or other similar ones. He noted that the service also contributes to providing new job opportunities for youth in the Egyptian market.

Head of the Division of petroleum products of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce in Qaliubiya, Mohamed Abdel-Moneim pointed out that the Egyptian market does not need such services, which are widely available, through gas stations, and spread throughout the governorates.
