The Egyptian Cabinet denied rumors circulated over the internet concerning the spread of adulterated gasoline at various gas stations across the country.

The Cabinet's Media Center contacted the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, which denied the rumors, stressing that there is no truth to the spread of fraudulent gasoline that does not conform to standard specifications at any of the gas stations.

The ministry pointed out that all petroleum products at all gas stations are safe and conform to standard specifications, stressing that periodic procedures are carried out on a permanent basis to withdraw random samples from gas stations, including gasoline of all kinds for analysis in the specialized laboratories, while taking all legal actions against any violator or manipulator of fuel.

It appealed to all the various media and social media users to investigate accuracy and objectivity in publishing news and to communicate with the concerned authorities before publishing information that is not based on any facts and leads to confusion and anxiety among citizens.
