Cabinet Approves AfDB Deal to Provide Sanitation Services Worth €108M

The Cabinet approved on Wednesday approved a presidential degree regarding a financing agreement between Egypt and the African Development Bank (AfDB) for an integrated sanitation program in rural areas in Upper Egypt - Luxor, with an amount not exceeding €108 million, signed on March 3.

The Cabinet approved another decree on a grant agreement signed with the AfDB and the African Development Fund to implement an integrated sanitation network in Luxor, at the cost of €1 million.

The cabinet also approved a draft resolution on approving the decision of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank to authorize an increase of the bank’s capital.

It also agreed, during the weekly meeting, to reallocate a plot of privately owned state-owned land, with an area of ​​about 69.14 feddans, south of Nasr City, in favor of the National Tunnels Authority, to be used in the establishment of the massive workshop for the fifth line of the metro.

Also, two plots of state-owned lands will be allocated for use in reclamation and cultivation activities in Beni Suef and Minya to implement the tree forest plantation project.

Recommendations were also approved for a law organizing the construction and restoration of churches.
