On Friday, British authorities charged actor and activist Russell Brand with rape and sexual assault.
Four women accused the comedian with rape and sexual assault. The process of the investigation took 18 months.
London’s Metropolitan Police force said Brand faces one count of rape, one of indecent assault, one of oral rape and two of sexual assault.
On his side, Brand denied engaging in “non-consensual” sexual activity.
The alleged offenses took place between 1999 and 2005. One took place in Bournemouth and the other three took place in central London.
Police said the investigation remains open and called anyone with relevant information to contact the authorities.
