K-pop girl band BLACKPINK has finally shared a glimpse into their long-awaited comeback.

The band took to social media on Sunday to share a brief announcement trailer. The 30-second footage, titled “Born Pink”, featured a snippet of what appears to be a new song, along with a general timeframe of when to expect their next song, album, and world tour.

The footage ended with a list of important upcoming dates: a pre-release single scheduled for August, followed by the album drop in September, and a world tour set for October.

The “Born Pink” teaser arrives on the heels of the band's music video for their new track “Ready For Love”.

On July 5, BLACKPINK announced that they’ll return with new music in August and will launch a continuous large-scale project that will extend through the second half of the year.

A press release from YG Entertainment noted that they were in the final stages of recording a new album.

The release also promised that the international tour would be the “largest” in the history of a K-pop girl group.

“A lot of BLACKPINK-esque music has been prepared over a long period of time. On top of new music and large-scale projects, BLACKPINK will also go on the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group by the end of the year to expand their rapport with fans worldwide,” YG Entertainment said.

The band released their first full-length album titled “The Album” in October 2020. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

BLACKPINK has landed seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including the top 20 hit “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez and a pair of top 40s: “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga and “How You Like That”.

Last week, the band became the first musical act to reach 75 million subscribers on YouTube. They earned the title of most-subscribed artist on the platform in September 2021, when they surpassed the 65.5 million mark and took over the lead from Justin Bieber.
