The French presidency announced today, Thursday, that President Emmanuel Macron will receive his US counterpart, Joe Biden, on June 8 in Paris, during a state visit.
The White House announced, in a press statement reported by French media, that Joe Biden will be in France from June 5 to 9, and will deliver a speech on June 6 during the official celebrations on the beaches of Normandy, where “73,000 American soldiers carried out a landing operation that paved the way for the liberation of France and Europe," he will also salute American veterans and their families.
On June 7, Joe Biden will deliver a speech in Normandy “about the importance of defending freedom and democracy,” according to the White House.
The Elysee, for its part, announced that the French and US presidents will discuss continued and long-term support for Ukraine.
