Popular billionaire and the founder of Amazon announced a USD 2 billion pledge from his Earth Fund for securing food, and funding methods dedicated to restoring nature and restricting climate change impacts, Forbes reported on Tuesday.

The leading enterpriser highlighted that this fund will support his nature agenda, and it will focus on conserving wild spaces and restoring natural landscapes and food.

"We must conserve what we still have, we must restore what we’ve lost, and we must grow what we need to live without degrading the planet for future generations to come,” he explained.

Bezos referred to his July space trip and described the Earth during his speech at COP 26, saying: “Looking back at earth from up there the atmosphere seems so thin, the world so finite and so fragile."

He added: “We must all stand together to protect our world. Climate change gives us a powerful reason to invest in nature.”

Finally, the business figure expressed that his environment-oriented fund will be “eager to participate in a concerted strategy led by African nations to seriously and effectively ramp up support for restoration on the continent."

Therefore, Bezos called all private companies and enterprisers to play a vital role in resisting climate change and helping in restoring nature, saying: “We cannot rely only on governments, philanthropy, and NGOs to fix the climate crisis. The private sector also has to play its part. Companies need to take leadership positions.”
