For the first time, the Uzbek poem "Beautiful" poet by the famous Abdulhamid Cholpon has been translated into Arabic.
Ms. Magda Makhlouf, professor at the Faculty of Arts of Ain Shams University in Cairo, says that she has dedicated this beautiful work to the beautiful memory of the author on the eve of May 9 - Day of Memory and Honor.
It should be noted that this poem was directly translated from Uzbek.
Until now, Professor Magda Makhlouf translated the work "Baburname" of the great warlord, poet, and writer Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur into Arabic and acknowledged the history and culture of the Uzbek people in Egypt and the Arab world.
It is worth noting that Cholpon, an Uzbek poet, writer, and publicist, one of the founders of the new Uzbek poetry, was born in 1897 in the Uzbek city of Andijan. He fought for the independence of his homeland at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1937, Cholpon was arrested and a year later, on October 5, 1938, he was shot. It remains unknown to whom or what "Beautiful" was dedicated. Many note that by his poem Cholpon described the independence of Turkestan (Central Asia) which was part of the Russian Empire.
