Authorities in Cairo have begun dismantling the concrete barriers surrounding the British Embassy in Garden City, a move aimed at restoring smoother traffic flow in the busy district.
The development comes amid rising political tensions following the detention of an Egyptian national in the United Kingdom.
The National Front Party in Egypt issued a strongly worded statement condemning the British authorities’ action, describing it as a violation of justice, human rights, and diplomatic norms.
The party expressed full solidarity with Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, urging reciprocal measures and stressing the principle of protecting national dignity. Its statement declared that Egypt should not extend protection to those who fail to show respect in return.
The removal of the barriers around the British Embassy marks both a symbolic and practical step, reflecting wider diplomatic strains between Cairo and London.
