U.S. President Donald Trump plans to announce the beginning of the second phase of the Gaza agreement before Christmas, according to a report from the U.S. news site Axios.
The report states that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with Trump in the United States before the end of the month to discuss the next steps of the Gaza plan. Axios quoted Trump as telling Netanyahu during a phone call on Monday that he expects the Israeli leader to be "a better partner" regarding the Gaza situation.
Moreover, U.S. officials mentioned that the Peace Council, chaired by Trump, will take the lead in establishing the new governing structure in Gaza. They also noted that Washington is in the final stages of forming an international stabilization force and creating a new governance framework for the territory.
